History

The Connecticut Chapter of SMPS was created in 1982 as the Southern New England Chapter. In 2004, we realigned our focus and were renamed to align more closely with our core geographic membership in Connecticut. SMPS CT’s membership includes over 100 professional marketers from all over the state and at all levels and stages of their careers.

We join National in extending our mission to ADVOCATE for, EDUCATE, and CONNECT leaders in the building industry.  SMPS CT’s vision is for premier professional service firms to recognize SMPS as their most trusted resource for building business and achieving success.

The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) was created in 1973 by small group of professional services firm leaders who recognized the need to sharpen skills, pool resources, and work together to create business opportunities. Today, SMPS nationally represents a dynamic network of more than 7,400 marketing and business development professionals from architectural, engineering, planning, interior design, construction, and specialty consulting firms located throughout the United States and Canada. The Society and its 63 chapters benefit from the support of 3,250 design and building firms, encompassing 80% of the Engineering News-Record Top 500 Design Firms and Top 400 Contractors.

The SMPS CT Board of Directors and Committee Members look forward to the opportunity to serve you. If you have questions or would like to learn more about SMPS, please  contact us for assistance.
