Principals Program - Beyond the Plan: Challenges and Solutions to Strategic Planning, Implementation and Budget

Strategic planning is a critical component for firms looking for ways to grow and thrive in an increasingly competitive environment.  However, the development of creating the plan is only the first step.  How does a firm take its plan beyond creation into successful implementation and execution?  This interactive session will provide a platform to participate in meaningful guided dialogue with industry veterans and peers to discuss best practices on how to avoid common implementation mistakes, engage firm stakeholders, and measure and monitor progress.  Principals and marketing professionals of all levels are encouraged to attend.

After participating in this session, attendees will:

  • Have a better understanding of the strategic planning process.
  • Gain exposure to creative ways to overcome common challenges and implementation.
  • Receive tips, tools, ideas and resources on how to engage leadership and execute a strategic plan.

 

Speaker: Kayla McCause, CPSM 

Kayla McCause, CPSM – A well-respected leader in the AEC industry, Kayla has held a variety of leadership positions specializing in developing and executing creative marketing and targeted business development strategies, implementation, and coaching.  A passionate relationship builder, Kayla believes any successful strategy starts from within and works with clients to develop internal processes, build consensus, and coach technical staff.

In her current role as a Business Development and Marketing Strategist at Dragonfly AEC Consulting, Kayla works with design and construction firms through a wide range of services including market research, situational analysis, branding/messaging, and target pursuit strategies and implementation.

Kayla has been an active member of SMPS since 2014, earning her CPSM credentials in 2017.  She is currently serving as Director-at-Large on the SMPS Philadelphia chapter’s Board of Directors, worked on the programs committee for the 2018 SMPS Northeast Regional Conference, and recently spoke on Strategic Planning at SMPS Build Business 2018.  Additionally, she holds a Master’s degree in Marketing-Communications from Temple University.
