ZOOM Production

Meetings on Zoom don’t have to be boring. In this interactive session you will gain Zoom tips to make your own meetings more interactive, engaging, and memorable. You will learn exercises to bring back to your team that build relationships, trust, and community -- even when not in the same physical space. We will show you that going online does not have to be a lesser version of the in-person experience.

You will walk away with:

  • A greater understanding of Zoom tools beyond the basics to maximize communication and meeting effectiveness (including breakout rooms).
  • A hands-on experience of how Zoom can be used to create a welcoming and engaging space for networking and connecting.
  • How to set up your physical space to command attention and project yourself as a trusted expert.
  • Knowledge of Zoom's various account options and add-ons to help find the configuration that's right for you and your organization.
  • Fun, relationship-building exercises to incorporate into your own virtual meetings
  • Laughter and connection with the SMPS CT community.

About the Presenters:

Mallory Penney, Better Together Labs

Mallory Penney has a passion for organizational and leadership development through the lens of applied improvisation. She works with teams to help them find ways to work, create, and communicate better together using the tools of improv to strengthen their ability to listen clearly, embrace risk-taking, stay agile, and develop resilience in the face of adversity. Mallory works with leaders to identify their strengths in order to better understand their specific leadership profile. Instead of insisting that leaders fit into a cookie-cutter and stereotypical style of leadership, she provides them tools that lean into and augment their specific leadership style, making them more authentic and effective leaders in their organizations. She has lent her skills to organizations as diverse as the American Marketing Association, Genentech, and California State University. Mallory is a member of the Applied Improvisation Network and holds a B.A. in Theater and Performance Studies from the University of California, Berkeley.

Reggie Harris, Better Together Labs

Reggie Harris, a veteran of the tech industry, has held key positions at prominent Silicon Valley companies including Google, Dropbox, and Zynga and has provided his skills for a number of non-profits. He has developed a way of communicating challenging and complex concepts in a way that's engaging, friendly, and easily comprehensible. At Better Together Labs, Reggie combines his deep knowledge of corporate and non-profit working environments along with unique insights into the nature of human behavior and interaction to transform stagnant organizations into dynamic, collaborative teams that are fun to work in. Reggie is an honors graduate of Harvard University with a degree in Computer Science and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Chinese language and culture. He is also an avid improvisor and his work is heavily influenced by the philosophies and methodologies of improvisation.
