Celebrating National Volunteer Week!

SMPS is celebrating National Volunteer Week!

SMPS Connecticut would like to thank all of our amazing volunteers for their hard work and commitment to the chapter. Learn more about some of their SMPS stories below.

“As a service-provider to the AEC industry, I enjoy all the opportunities that membership in SMPS provides me to meet and learn from a great collection of marketers, business developers and owners.” - Cathie Reese, Geomatrix Productions, Inc.

"Collaborating with and leading an amazing group of volunteers through SMPS CT has been a fun and exceptional experience! We speak the same lingo and have a level of understanding that can’t be achieved anywhere else. I get so excited at our board meetings when someone throws out a great idea and everyone rolls with it and keeps adding and refining it until we come up with something brilliant. It’s truly inspiring!" - Nichole Petersen, Flow Tech Inc.

"Volunteering for SMPS CT has been instrumental in my growth as a marketer. Being part of the communications committee has helped me become a better leader and teammate."  - Marta Dabrowski, WSP USA Inc.

I have gained friendships and connections in the industry that I know I can turn to, and have turned to, for advice in my career. I have only been in the industry a few years, but the year I have been a part of SMPS has been the best year yet, and the year of my most growth!”—Hannah Sullivan, Standard Builders Inc.

“One thing we are all realizing right now is how important community is to our well-being. I volunteer with SMPS because from the minute I walked into my first program, I saw my people. The creative, smart, insightful folks I get to surround myself with at the local level and at the regional and national conferences all make me better at my job every day. If you are the sum of who you hang out with, I’m incredibly proud to be hanging out with SMPSers!”—Samantha VanSchoick, CIL
