Meet SMPS Connecticut's newest members!

 

Stephanie Beals 
Marketing Manager, TSKP STUDIO

As the Marketing Manager at TSKP STUDIO, Stephanie Beals supports in-house marketing initiatives through proposal writing, marketing material development, and water cooler chatter. Stephanie joined TSKP eleven years ago. Previously, Stephanie worked for the New York State Department of Research and Development, specializing in Energy Efficiency Research while earning a Master's in Business Administration. Outside of work, she is an avid runner, hiker and mom. Stephanie enjoys day trips with her family (submarine museum, anyone?), jigsaw puzzles and supporting charities such as CureSMA.

 

Melissa Hanson
Marketing and Sales Coordinator, Interscape Commercial Environments 

Melissa Hanson joined Interscape Commercial Environments in 2017 as a Marketing & Sales Coordinator out of their Farmington, CT office. She has improved brand awareness across all social media channels through a variety of means, including creation of the Interscape Blog, marketing email templates, and customer-facing online project portfolios. This past year, Melissa’s collaboration with Lindsey Mathieu of Golden Egg Concepts for the new Interscape Brochure, was the recipient of the SMPS CT People’s Choice Award. Outside of work, Melissa is the owner of a comprehensive photography business for private and corporate clients. She enjoys spending time with her husband and two young boys, and has a strong passion for health and fitness.

 

Cheryl Hart 
Director of Marketing and Business Development, Svigals + Partners

Cheryl Hart is the new Director of Marketing and Business Development at Svigals + Partners Architecture + Art out of their New Haven office. Cheryl was previously an advertising account manager, where she worked on branding efforts for household names like Pepsi, Kellogg’s, and Nabisco. Day-to-day, she collaborates with partners and principals on business development initiatives and leads marketing and communications efforts. Adept at processing multiple, complex factors—such as brand equity, design, marketplace dynamics, and target insights, distilling them into winning growth strategies—she has quickly become a key team player and major asset for current and future clients.

 

George Jacobs, PE
Vice President, KS Engineers

George Jacobs, PE is a transportation engineer with over 38 years’ experience, designing major highway infrastructure projects throughout New England, across the US and abroad. Major projects include the Franconia Notch Parkway in New Hampshire, the “Big Dig” in Massachusetts, the “Q-Bridge” Program in Connecticut, and the Woodrow Wilson Bridge in Washington, DC. Additionally, George has managed branch offices and northeast regions for several top-ranking national firms. George is currently Vice President in charge of KS Engineers’ Connecticut Office where his primary focus is on business development, staff mentorship, and delivering quality, and safety on every project.

 

Patrick Volk
Partner, Geomatrix Productions, Inc. 

Patrick Volk loves producing video for the AEC industry, and his skills as a producer, designer, editor, and videographer have contributed to the success of Geomatrix clients for over 25 years.  He has worked on a wide variety of projects, including competition submission videos for Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects, videos showcasing firm philosophy for Pickard Chilton, and videos introducing staff and featuring firm culture for BL Companies.  Away from work, Patrick looks forward to spending time with his wife and two daughters.  When he’s feeling ambitious, he enjoys landscaping and building patios, ponds, pergolas, and fences, for himself and his family.  These days, Patrick also spends a lot of time playing guitar and mandolin with his blues-rock band “The Howling Barncats!” Recent performances include performing at fund-raising benefits for local non-profits “Abilities Without Boundaries,” and “Connecticut Special Olympics.”
